FAQ's

1. What Is The Legal Requirement For First Aid At Work?

The Health and Safety (First-Aid) Regulations 1981 require employers to provide the necessary equipment, facilities, and personnel to ensure their employees receive immediate attention if they become injured or ill at work. This includes ensuring that the right equipment, qualified people, and appropriate facilities are available.

2. How Is First Aid Used In The Workplace?

First Aid in the Workplace is emergency treatment that is given to employees or visitors who suffer an injury. Providing first aid can help people in need receive appropriate treatment quickly and aid in the healing process.

3. How Many Employees In A Business Require A First Aider?

Historically, the number of first aid personnel required depends on the number of employees: Fewer than 25; One Appointed person, between 25 to 50 requires one EFAW (Emergency First Aid at Work) trained first aider and for businesses with over 50 employees, 1 FAW (First Aid at Work) trained first aider per 100 people. This is, in reality, dictated by the role and function of the company and outcome of a First aid Risk assessment.
